One collection I managed to somehow not post about during fashion week was Proenza Schouler. Proenza Schouler's fall 2011 collection did catch my eye at first sight, but did not immediately make me say woah, but after much thought and looking at the collection many more times, I found the details of the collection, captured here by Tommy Ton, were what sold me. The craftsmanship of this collection's pieces were remarkable, the textures, weaving, everything brought the sort of tribal feel of the collection together, and made it unique.
Givenchy F/W '11 - my favorite collection of the fall 2011 season hands down. The color palette was so simple, but offered a complex range of ideas when it came to the clothes and graphics on the clothing.
Now that it has been announced that Riccardo Tisci will replace Galliano at Dior, what direction do you think Givenchy will go? Do you think Tisci will design for both houses? He has truly made Givenchy his own, and I could not see him leaving the label entirely.
My favorite looks from Dolce & Gabbana F/W '11. This collection exceeded my expectations for DG, since for the past few seasons I haven't been feeling the collections they've been putting out, since each seemed to have a similar theme, but this is finally new territory.
