Meadham Kirchoff's fall 2010 collection was much different than anything they'd done before, deeply influenced by what the design duo felt at the time. Known for their dark palettes and streetwear, the pair strayed away from that with a collection full of lace, color, and stunning fabrics. Inspiration came from the romantic era, "bias-cut 30s Hollywood gowns," and the need for "drama" in their collection.
I even noticed a bit of Indian influence, with what looked like beautiful beading on some of the fabrics, bright threads used, all of the bangles, the tassels, the crowns, and all of it style flawlessly. I give this collection high marks, because it was risky for Meadham Kirchoff, but it was executed well. Oh, and that it also seemed like there was some Comme Des Garçons business going on.
More fall 2010 reviews coming, school has been hectic this week!
