Words to describe Karl Lagerfeld's spring couture show for Chanel: completely and utterly the most shiny and beautiful masterpiece I've seen in a long time. I wasn't too sure what to expect for Chanel's spring couture, because we've seen a host of different themes for the house's collections this past year. For resort, Karl and his crew traveled to Venice, Italy, showing a dark and mysterious collection, moving to the barn for spring ready-to-wear, and to Shanghai for pre-fall, which always has a fabulous destination for its setting and theme. Lagerfeld told style.com that he wouldn't call his couture collection "futuristic," though it may seem that way. He also says that the collection came as "an electronic flash in my head at five o'clock one morning. Silver and pastel," and clearly, that is what he showed on the runway today.
I'll have to report on the accessories and shoes tomorrow, I'm off to bed for now, but more on the fabulously spacey shoes shown soon! [Oh, and now I have an itch to paint my nails silver ;)]
