Covers | Numero Tokyo May 09

 Model Isabeli Fontana on the cover of Numero Tokyo, May 09. Dressed in all black Dolce & Gabbana, Isabeli looks beautiful on a sunset-like background, moving the magazine into an early summer theme.  The Dolce & Gabbana that she wears could look harsh, but it is made soft with the shades of pink from the background, making Isabeli look fresh and summery.

First Look | First Stages of Gwyneth Paltrow's Collaboration With Zoe Tee

This is what I would call a 'prototype' sketch from Gwyneth Paltrow's newly confirmed collaboration with French Premium Jersey brand Zoe Tee.  The line is going to consist of seven looks, catering to both day and night-wear.  This sketch looks pretty promising, very 'Paltrow-esque.'

Happy 1 Year Anniversary Style Rookie!

Today is the one year anniversary of famous 12 year old blogger, Tavi, of Style Rookie.  She has accomplishd tons of things at just 12 years of age.  I love her blog, and her personal style, and I think you guys should read her blog too, if you don't already.

Ad Campaigns | Zac Posen's 1st Ever

Here it is, Zac Posen's first ever ad campaign, starring model Alexandra Tomlinson and a nice kitty, shot by Ellen Von Unwerth.  I think that it is a nice image, flattering, and fits the collection that is being advertised, I assume the pre-fall collection.  The name of the designer on one blank page reminds me of something Marc Jacobs-esque.  

Posen told WWD that, 

"The hardest part was selecting the best image,” said Posen. “You want something that grabs the attention on the page and something that is simple…direct and cohesive. I wanted it to be pure and true to yourself and to your customer."

Well, I would have to say, this is quite a pleasing image, and a pretty good pick for a label's first ad campaign.  

Models | Fresh Faces from Fall 09

While I was looking through Style.com's top ten newcomers from Fall 09, I picked my top three.  These models are really in no particular order for me, so they are just three of my favorites.  First, is Jac, a Polish native, with light eyes, and very strong cheekbones.  At only about 15 or 16, Jac closed Marni, and opened and closed Calvin Klein in New York.  Next is the "doll-faced" Dutch girl, who is not the shiniest new toy on the catwalk, but she has really made her debut this season, choosing not to be too exclusive, like some of the newer models.  Last we have Tao Okamoto, the Japanese inspiration for the bowl-cuts on Phillip Lim's fall 09 runway.  She opened his show, and became the first Asian model to walk for Miu Miu in two years, and walked over 45 shows this season.
