Top designers have been attracted to shiny objects in this Spring 2009 season. On the runway of Balenciaga, metallics were adapted into a new space age look. At Marc Jacobs, metallic yarn, Lurex, was weaved into several different pieces, the most noticed were the sashes worn around the models' skirts. These sashes make for a great high-waisted look and are beautifully crafted, available in different colors. Christopher Bailey gilded several of his looks for Burberry Prorsum this season, with flowy silver frocks and slick trenches and jackets. A standout piece at Chloé was a pair of metallic copper high-waisted harem-like pants with a 70s feel. With plenty of other eye-catching metallics in the collection, Chloé delivered this season. Keep an eye out for this trend in the upcoming fall 2009 season, because it is destined to be a hit.
